David Fitch, 4624, recently made a two day transit of the Panama Canal with a crew of six, the Canal Authority advisor, four line handlers and a dedicated cook. It turned out to be a grand time with lots of beer and food on board for a party at the midway anchorage. They were fully provisioned so the cook had her choice of ingredients.
The transit was scheduled for one day but took two due to Canal scheduling conflicts. This was the best of two worlds as thet had two non-rushed days, a party at the anchorage including a swim with alligators and Dave only had to pay for a one-day transit.
There are no photos of Kwakatu in the canal as there is no way to get off during the transit. The photos in the Photo Album section were taken were on deck and one taken from the dock at the Yacht Club at the Atlantic end of the canal.
