A fellow from Hong Kong visited recently and said he sold his boat because he could not stand the hot nights on a mooring. For some reason, it seems, not many folks know about the cool blanket. I learned about it when I was stationed for a year in Korea and lived in a tent. It works so well Stella and I have never needed air conditioning in our bedroom.

With a fan blowing on you, put a damp, not wet, towel over your body. That's it.

Works best on bare skin but will work some through cloth. Sometimes you sleep through the night, sometimes you have to get up and re-dampen the towel. Big deal, you probably have to get up anyway.

A lot cheaper than running a genset and cooling down everything in the cabin including the walls, drawers, their contents, etc. just so you can sleep comfortably. Try it and give a report.

Note; do not let a fan blow on your bare back for a long time as this can cause pneumonia. Been there, done that.

In the Oz tropics many motels etc provide ceiling fans - even on the slowest setting this provides for better sleep than any airconditioner can
A solution to having to rewet the cloth or your skin is to put a bowl of water infront of the fan
Your method is also something described by doctors for babies with a temperature when it is hot
