OK, my boat, Umiak Sedan #1 is about to launch. Now I'm guessing in some circles it's bad mojo to talk about how excited I am before the official launch but hey, it's in the water and floating so the first big issue is out of the way.

I'll be going to the yard for the nominal final inspection soon, though there may be a final, final inspection after that. Henry is doing a great job keeping me up to speed on progress and addressing issues as they come up or are brought to his attention.

So this may be a fluff post for the most part but the whole Palmer clan is ready to start commissioning the boat together. We plan to start in July in Olympia Washington at Capitol City Yachts. I can almost feel the shudder in the hull, wind in my hair (metaphorically because it has long since retired farther south) and the spray in my face. Followed by non stop requests to my boys to limit the life threatening adventures that they will invariably stumble into during the course of the day.


So CHEERS TO CRUISERS CURRENT AND SOON TO BE DUCK OWNERS. If you are in the North West this summer drop me a line, visitors are always welcome.

It may be more about the dream than the boat, but is it one hell of a boat to live out your dream on!
