Hi Everyone - I am new here and this will be my first post. I have enjoyed reading everyone's comments about their DD's and your cruises aboard them. My wife and I will retire next year and are thinking of moving onto a 41'DD and cruising the east coast and beyond. Our previous two boats were plywood/epoxy constructed and we found them to be easy to maintain, good looking and solidly built. We had no problems whatsoever with this method of construction with either of them. In fact, we liked them so much, we plan to have our DD built this way. Would appreciate anyone's opinion, pro or con, regarding this. . Thanks, Warren

Hello, I am thinking of building the 41 foot Duck too. I have always built in ply/epoxy, and really enjoy reading Georges BBB book and his heavy duty methods of boat building, I would enjoy bolting heavy timbers and frames and smearing on the roofing tar. It doesn't all have to be glass cloth and fillets, and waiting for the epoxy to go off.
What are your thoughts?
